Not too long ago the design and production team held voice auditions for our next game (the one after Alibi in Ashes). This is when professional actors and actresses come in for a chance to read a script. After they are given a brief summary of the character, it's up to them to bring that character to life with only their skilled voice. (I was lucky enough to sit in on a few few auditions for a couple female characters).
After auditions, the team then listens to all of the recordings to determine the cast. Once they have been chosen, the real recording begins! We'll have to wait and see what happens next.
Oh and just a note, we *might* have something exciting this week.

I think HER should have a Nancy Drew fan do one of the characters voices!!! It would be a great prize for a contest! what do you think Jackolope? :)
You know,I've always wondered about the character voices.Like,I wonder whoplays Nancy because she's played her since like, game one.I thought It'd be so cool to be one of the people who plays a game character(even if it included when Nancy fall, screams, groans, ect.)
Ver cool. Will we ever get to hear them here on your Blog??
From me,
Silvertongue.
Ooooh! I ALWAYS wondered about how you went about choosing the voices for the characters! I loved hearing about that! Thank you for sharing it!! So what do you have to do to qualify for those auditions, not just anybody can do it right? I'm sure they hire people who have had their voices in PC games before. That would make a cool contest! To get your voice in a game! Not a main character just like an answering machine or something.
Sooo... there's more than one female character in ND 26... interesting.
"There might be something exciting later this week" what are you talking about? Of course there will be! ASH comes out in stores that's enough excitement for any ND fan!

Nancy has always been voiced by Lani Minella. You can look her up on YouTube and see a news clip of her performing. It's pretty awesome!
I think the fan contest is a great idea! But they would have to be in the Seattle area, as almost all of our characters are recorded here. :(
Oh so that's the thing, you have to live in WA to be able to audition... got it. *Mom can we move to Washington?!*
I forgot to add, you certainly did a good job taking that photo, no matter what program I use to zoom in on that photo I still can't read any of the lines on that paper or the names of the people who auditioned. ;)
