The Hardy Boys Nancy Drew Mysteries TV Show

As HI’s current librarian it’s pretty nice to check in on the collection every once and a while, you never know what you are going to find! Maybe, oh a collection of … “The Hardy Boys Nancy Drew Mysteries TV DVD Seasons”?! Yes, HI is quite thorough in their collecting!

I did a little sleuthing on the history of the television series (which was way before my time), and I found out that the Hardy Boys TV show ran primetime on ABC for three seasons! I watched a couple episodes on my breaks and heh, they were quite fun!

From the script (lots of “gosh” and “gee”) and sound effects to the wavy hairstyles and plaid suits, the TV series has an innate “70’s feel”.

I am also a huge fan of James Bond (I’ve seen each movie at least 3 times), and the the music in the TV series kind of reminded me of the scores used in some of the 1970’s JB movies, like Live and Let Die (listen to the music in the background, I love it!) It really has some heavy disco influences: violins, brass horns, retro guitar…

Anyways, for all the Hardy Boys (or Shaun Cassidy/Parker Stevenson) fans out there, I’m sure that you can find a copy or two of the DVD seasons in your local public library, or on Amazon.

BTW, you can check out the TV show opening here! See what I’m talking about? :P

Ahh... I remember those shows. Really brings back memories. I was dissappointed when the series was cancelled. Love those Hardy Boys!

The scene on the monitor looks like the Hardy Boys are standing in front of the fireplace at the Icicle Creek Lodge!
P.S. Can I borrow the book titled, "The Visual Display of Quantitative Information"? ;)

How come there are so many DVDs of the same thing though???
If Nancy Drew and The Hardy Boys show only ran for 2 seasons (and the second season box was blue) how come there are 12 red season boxes? What do you DO with that many??? :0

I remember those series... I rented them from the library once. They were really good, but I never finished the Hardys before i had to turn it back in. So I've never seen Nancy Drew... *sighs* Nice collection, though!

- Haha, think about it, do you really want to read "The Visual Display of Quantitative Information?". It actually is kinda cool though, nice pictures....

-Hmm, I'm not quite sure. Collecting and saving multiple copies for the day when one is worth millions and millions of dollars? Better stock up! :P

If you like Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys I highly recommend viewing these--they are pure classic '70s in the best sense of the word.

My 9-year-old daughter has all of the shows from the series on DVD--she got them as a gift.

I confess I STILL get excited when Shaun Cassidy shows up. And I had a crush on him when I was my daughter's age!
