GTH is Golden!

Today is an important day in our office! Today Ghost of Thornton Hall has gone gold! This means our final game build is complete, no more changes are going to be made, and it is now off to be burned onto discs, printing the boxes and then packaged. There is a lot that goes into this next stage, but I won't bore you with all the details...I will say that every day between here and May 14th will be needed to work on preparing it's red carpet entrance out to the world!

Today, at exactly 2:30pm PST, all of the leads gathered in a ceremonious meeting to officially sign off approval for this new game. Here, our Marketing Director signs his name on the official document.

And here is the collection of all of the leads' signed documents:

Hooray! Immediately after that meeting ended, we held an introduction meeting to ND#29, and I'm trying not to say the three letter abbreviation for this game (because it completely gives itself away). We learned about the story, setting, characters, what was going to happen and who the villain was...even though I've already done some snooping and seen some of the artist's work in progress. One word to describe ND29? INTENSE.

To celebrate today, our Lead Tester, Jeanne, and our Designer, Cathy, brought it celebratory cookies:

Yum.

Head's up! We are having a Twitter Quote Contest today only, AND a Facebook Caption Contest that will last until end of day Monday! Head over to enter for a chance to win some prizes!

What a relief it must be after a game is all finished up like that! :) Especially when cookies are involved!

I like your pose in the Facebook Caption Contest by the way!

P.S. I was wondering, in your closeup picture where you were getting all 'geared up for GTH' is it just the lace mask that made your eyes look so dark or did you paint black around you eyes?

Ah! I danced around the room after reading this, I'm so excited for you guys!!:D
Eeek, Can't believe you're already talking about ND29, I'm so excited for the next one! Even though the only thing I've seen for GTH is the box art...
Why Jared? Is he like the second person under Stuart?
Yummy! You have some awesome co workers!:D
Can I suggest that there be an alternative prize when you guys offer an iPhone case? People like me would love to enter the contest, but have nothing to do with an iPhone case.

"Think of atomic-fireball levels of hot" LOL! :D
And I had been thinking about how delicious those looked. I can just picture a clueless Nancy picking one up, eating it, eating as many as she would KokoKringle bars, and activating a 2nd Chance sequence. How did the cinnamon poppers taste/

By the way, I know you take birthday requests all the time, but would you be open to taking down a HeRthday request? On July 17th, I'll have been a member of the HeR forums for one year - I'm calling it my HeRthday. :)

Yeah! GTH is on it's way! Some days when I'm feeling down, all I have to do is think of the next Nancy Drew game, and I feel better. (^_^)
Those cookies are making me hungry...
Darn! I have a great idea for a caption, but I don't have a facebook (my parents don't allow it).
LJ: *Ghostly Groan* I'm the Ghost of this Hall...
Nick: Take one step closer and I'll melt you with my coffee! Wait, that's in Oz...

Great to hear GTH is going well! :)

Hey Little Jackalope, I was wondering what your role is at HER as well as blogging? We've seen interviews with other staff members talking about their jobs, but I was wondering what yours is?

Those cookies look AWESOME! I want some!

Since you take birthday shout out requests I was wondering if you you could do one on May 10 for my little sister, Lauren, who is turning 8.

One more thing before I stop digressing XD…
My quote contest entry! (even though this isn't Facebook)
Nik: Hi Little Jackalope. How have you-
Little Jackalope: Someone moved my things! Someone will pay!
Nik: Aaahhhhh!

Stay Sleuthy!

Ooooo, intense!! I'm so excited for pre-orders to start but pretty sure that I'll be screaming so hard when I'm playing the game! Little Jackalope, do you think you could give an 18th birthday shout-out to Emily on March 29? Thanks and love, love, love your blog!! :)

Where far art thou Jackalope? I have a question to ask you! In ASH in Alexei's shop, the little news article in the corner (River Heights Gazette) with the 7 pictures of children, the little girl (second picture in the bottom row) looks like it could be your baby picture. Yes or no?

@Hannah -- that is 100% the lace mask, I did not paint my face. XD

@Future HeR Animator - We try mixing up the prizes for each contest, so perhaps next one will be a prize everyone would enjoy. :)

@Nancy Drew's #1 fan - I'm sure I can't give it away...at least not until GTH launches and the preview video at the end of the game is revealed...

@Claire - My role includes snooping, creating art stuff, sneaking into the game builds to get art and audio, creating the Merchandise Store images, writing, emailing, helping with contests, fun stuff, making videos...and more! ;)

Soon, Silvertongue! Soon...

@Rachel Stevens -- We answered your post on Facebook, but I'll answer it here, again: yes, that was me, when I was eleven and in 6th grade. :) Our designer, lead tester, character designer, creative director are in there, too!

Oh! And I made notes to all of those birthday shout-outs requested. (~.^)

Can you at least say if #29 is based on a yellow hardcover book, a Files, or a Mystery series book? You know you want to! I'll send you cookies! ;D

Yeah I know, I posted it here because I wasn't sure if you, The Jackalope, checked the Facebook updates.
