How many of you have experienced the frustration and paranoid fear when you tried solving this puzzle? Each time I play The Haunting of Castle Malloy and reach this puzzle I get nervous. Using the claw to pick up the individual elements without touching anything else is a bit nerve-wracking for me. One little bump with the claw and BOOM!! Explosion. You need to manipulate the claw correctly and perfectly in order to solve this puzzle.
Yikes.

Today is a good day to start talking about the game play of Ghost of Thornton Hall. One of the true things about the older games (when I didn't know what was going to happen) that made me nervous was every time that I was about to turn a corner, or enter a new environment. Who knew that a shadowy figure would walk across the halls in Message in a Haunted Mansion? Or that a crow would nearly fly into your face in The Haunting of Castle Malloy?
Here in the office, one of the scare styles we like to incorporate to scary games, or thriller games, is the element of surprise. When you least expect it (or totally anticipate it) something will happen suddenly to startle you! Have you had this Nancy Drew moment before?
If you have played Ghost of Thornton Hall already, are there any other games you are missing from your mystery collection? With school letting out soon and summer being just around the corner, this may be a good time to catch up on some unsolved cases!

Anyways, as we continue the Nancy Drew "Scary Game" marathon in preparation for Ghost of Thornton Hall, we finish up Legend of the Crystal Skull this week and begin The Haunting of Castle Malloy for the weekend.

For those who are following along, do you have a favorite part about Legend of the Crystal Skull? I sort of wish I could toss marshmallows to Bernie the way Reneé mentioned Henry Sr. did. And then I'd eat some marshmallows myself...I mean as Nancy. XD In real life, I've added "try gumbo from a food truck" to my adventure list of things to do. Haven't found a truck with that food item yet, but when I do, it would be a bonus if the server or chef wore a red plaid shirt....haha.

It is an absolutely gorgeous day today at the office! Spring is good here; the rain does quite a good job at keeping everything green and colorful, fresh and new, so when the sun comes out, everything shines gloriously! I made a comment to a fellow worker about how the sun coming up behind the mountain and illuminating the vast green grass and tall pine trees made me think of Ireland. Not sure why, because I've never been to Ireland, and I'm also not sure what kind of trees they have over there. Note to self, ask somebody who has been!
Oh, wait. Does The Haunting of Castle Malloy count as 'been to Ireland'? Although it was dark, there were still plenty of foliage around the castle. The garden had plenty of beautiful flowers, along with the front arching entrance to the grounds. At least in-game we don't have to smell the nasty bog, or really get wet walking through it. By the way, this game is still on sale for 25% off through this March, so if you don't have it, check it out!
Random picture for the day: a miniature glitter globe on my desk. I love this thing! It's creates a party-like atmosphere for my cubicle. Weekend puzzle still at bay? Yesterday's hint refers to an old code used by a secret group of knights, so to speak. Let's get code cracking! :)
