Nancy Drew-isms in SPY

Recently I've been hunting through a few game environments and came across a few screenshots that stood out to me in The Silent Spy. If you haven't played the game yet, I'll try not to reveal too much.

Here you get a glimpse into Nancy's room from long ago when she was a kid. Do you see what I see? She has a miniature version of the haunted carousel from CAR! Also, she has a doll house replica of the Lilac Inn and model toy car that is spotted in Secret of the Old Clock!

How cool is that? Could this be some sort of backwards foreshadowing? Although we have played those games years ago, Nancy had toys that will be life-sized when she grows up. Crazy, huh? Have you played The Silent Spy, yet? Have you spotted any other hidden Nancy Drew items from other games?

As for the weekend puzzle, it has been solved! My vague hint about Jake's locker from Secrets Can Kill was to highlight the part about looking at a telephone for letters on the numbered buttons. For example, 6.2 would mean button #6 and the second letter shown, which is "N". Once you identify all the letters you'll get [nancysidiscode or better put "Nancy's I.D. is code"]. This is refering to SPY and another game...and it's for you to figure out. (Although some detective have already discovered this meaning.)

Weekend Puzzle #210

It's the last weekend before many of you start school! For us in the office, this means we will be out on Monday to observe Labor Day. This is a great weekend to replay the school-themed games...or any Nancy Drew game before your summer break ends! I think I'm going to play Warnings at Waverly Academy again. I like to make the snacks a gazillion times.

Music from the Past

In case you missed us: we took yesterday off to celebrate President's Day. :)

Deep within the old Secrets Can Kill game a music track was hidden, embedded but cannot be found in the game... Long ago before the game was published, at the last minute our President pulled it out, because it didn't quite fit the mood we were going for. Instead, the melody remained and can be heard in the end credits.

Sixteen years later, we revived it. We have uploaded it to our YouTube channel for your enjoyment:

As for the weekend puzzle, the clue to solving this is in the title: "Alternate" meant using the "Alt" key and typing those numbers to get the result. This is known as ASCII, and you can find dozens of charts online to help you, but all you need to do is hold down the ALT button and type the number. The grand answer is [Read the Epitaph]. A clue to Ghost of Thornton Hall. (No release date or further news has been announced for this game yet.)
