Voice Actors FTW

I am currently helping out with the recording of the voice dialogue for the upcoming release of our new Dossier game – it’s so much fun! I have become a really big fan of many of the characters in the ND series, and each character is created by many real life voice talents.

I’ll have some fun pictures of my exploits up really soon, until then, why not check out a couple cool articles that I found about voice actors/actresses?

Here are some of the pictures from yesterday:

DSCN2868A little bit o’ coffee to start the morning. Various books too.. (including a MacBook, heh)

DSCN2874So many scripts, so many characters! And snax.

DSCN2875In the recording booth. “Ok, we need a shriek, a loud shriek!”

DSCN2869I got to read some cue lines! Nancy’s in pink :P

How does someone get into the line of Voice Acting? Do you have to go to school for it? If so, what would you study?

Yay! That looks like a lot of fun. A shriek? Hehe... I think mine would hurt some people's ears... *whistles innocently*

Most voice actors are in fact, just actors. Many of HI's best talents also are heavily involved in the local theater and stage performance scene, and believe you me, the voices and characters that they come up with are amazing!

In terms of academic study, I'm guessing performing arts?

Personally I like the original games a LOT better than the Dossier games, no offense to the Dossier lovers.
