  2. All right, I'm so not getting this. What does [item + number] mean? I thought that it would be something where I would take all the letters from the item names, subtract letters from the ones with a [ - number] next to them, and figure out the anagram. But how am I supposed to *add* letters?

Sorry! I'm probably just being dense.

  3. ok so it says using the first letters of each word or the letter coming a certain number of spaces before or after it, it spells out A Returning Friend? what does that mean???

  4. I think the answer is 'a returning friend'. I took the first letters of the words, and put them together. The words with numbers in front of them, i went that many letters ahead or behind in the alphabet from the first letter.

  5. I found this one really easy except for one thing... I got "A Returning Frcend" Instead of "A Returning Friend." The little doodle looks like a dear to me and d - 1 = c. I just can't think of what starts with a j and looks like the doodle. Please, this one is going to drive me crazy; what is it?

It most definitely has to be a returning friend. the first time i tried i got friead because i thought it was acorn. Once i changed it to nut it made complete sense.

I was kinda sad about how easy that was.
    A Returning Friend!
    But it was fun :)

  10. A returning friend, huh? I bet that means someone from one of the games will be in TMB. *Gasp.* It would be so cool if it was Emily, from Message in the Haunted Mansion. She is a traveler for her newspaper. :)

  13. Looks like this puzzle was a good balance of "confusing" and easy!

I will explain just a tad more in the next post to come.

@"The Next Carolyn Keene": I promise I will make it up to you next weekend by making it super hard. It will have to be because the next puzzle will have a big important message in the answer. ~.^

  17. I got a returning friend. And for those who got confused with mispelling the word friend at the end it was supposed to be a Jackalope not a reindeer. Hope this helps.
